there's not much freakier to me than my london cell phone with the dead battery, which has been off (power - off - no screen - no color - no light) for two weeks, ringing its alarm every night at 1AM sharp. it vibrates too.

Its almost Thanksgiving and I have a lot to be thankful for. All my family and friends (well almost!) are here, healthy and on speaking terms with me (a change from the norm considering my estranged family) and I'm back at a job which although not the most glamorous or stimulating, can be challenging, rewarding, allows me to meet great people, and pays better that the same work earns elsewhere in the world. Options are endless really and thats the exciting thing. I'll plan my next (longer) exodus to Dubai or Columbia, fit in a cross-Canada bike ride first, learn to play every Libertine bassline in existence, finish my grandfather's biography, learn how to use this gddamn akai s-5000, become the next preemo, perfect Srpski, or just figure out and document the Legendary Alphabet (ask me sometime).

in one week, ive been beaten to the punch. both times in my own personal goals/respective fields/dreams/delusional fantasy. so much for originality.

i suppose i should congratulate the more qualified (if Gossip Records did just sign another vancouverite, and fellow Prime Collective dj jeff daniels) - and my phD certified cousin who gets to spearhead the charge writing my grandfather's memoirs, while i mindlessly transcribe cassette tapes.
